  • National Water Resources Association (NWRA) - Nonprofit federation of state organizations whose membership includes rural water districts, municipal water entities, commercial companies, and individuals. NWRA focuses on the appropriate management, conservation, and use of water and land resources on a national scope, and works to balance the needs of people and the environment.
     
  • National Water Quality Assesment Program (NAWQA) - In more than 50 major river basins and aquifers covering nearly all 50 states, USGS scientists collect and interpret data about water chemistry, hydrology, land use, stream habitat, and aquatic life.

  • Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) - Information on the main federal law that ensures the quality of Americans' drinking water.  Under SDWA, EPA sets standards for drinking water quality and oversees the states, localities, and water suppliers who implement those standards.

  • Safe Drinking Water Information System (SDWIS/Federal version) - SDWIS/FED is an EPA national database storing routine information about the nation's drinking water.  Designed to replace the system known as FRDS (Federal Reporting Data System), SDWIS/FED stores the information EPA needs to monitor approximately 175,000 public water systems.
     
  • Safedrinkingwater.com - Premier information source for the drinking water quality community, includes a weekly e-newsletter.
     
  • Science Advisory Board (SAB) (EPA) -  The SAB was established by Congress to provide independent scientific and engineering advice to the EPA Administrator Pool of Water (Erica Rosen/TPMC)on the technical basis for EPA regulations. SAB deals with risk assessment issues (hazard identification, dose-response assessment, exposure assessment and risk characterization) and only that portion of risk management that deals strictly with the technical issues associated with various control options.
     
  • Small Utility Network (AWWA) - AWWA's Small Utility Network is a problem solving/information service, dedicated to water systems serving 10,000 or fewer people.
     
  • STORET Home Page - STORET (short for STOrage and RETrieval) is a repository for water quality, biological, and physical data and is used by state environmental agencies, EPA and other federal agencies, universities, private citizens, and many others.
     
  • Superfund Program (USEPA) - Superfund locates, investigates and cleans up the worst hazardous waste sites throughout the United States.  Their website allows you to search for information about Superfund sites in your area, learn about this program, and more.
